Get ready for a challenge! If you've been following along with me for the last week, you know I've already started. But I am inviting you to join me!

We know that water is the most plentiful substance in the human body, and that every function, from muscle action to cell division to cognition, needs water to execute successfully. A lack of water, known as dehydration, can lead to consequences ranging from just feeling sluggish to organ failure. Still, even though we know all this, many of us (if not most of us) do not consistently get enough water into our bodies.

For singers, adequate hydration is essential to maintaining the delicate balance in the vocal system. But merely “adequate” hydration is just the bare minimum. Optimal hydration is a much better goal to shoot toward, and so for the next 30 days, I challenge you to grow your hydration motivation and drink a glass of water with every meal. I’ll include some water facts on my social pages, and we can encourage each other as we go along.

Use the hashtag #watereverymeal when you post about it. Invite your friends to get in on the challenge! If we’re doing it together, we’ll have a better chance at building habits that last.
