Voice Lessons

What do voice lessons need to be for you?

That's a very important question, because you are not like everyone else.

You've got your own goals, dreams, and needs.

So rather than putting you through a set curriculum, or a program, or a method, we figure out together what your needs are, and I set out to find the best way to fill those needs.

But what if you know you need something, but you're just not quite sure what yet?

No problem!

I say all the time, "I don't know" is a perfectly acceptable answer.

Through some guided questions, and a little bit of brave experimentation, we'll figure it out.

When you come to your session with me, I'll ask a lot of questions, about how your voice is feeling that day, what your intention for the day is, how things have been going in the past week, etc. You'll sing some stuff. I'll ask you more questions to see how you think it went. You'll sing some more. I'll ask more questions. Honestly? You're going to get annoyed with all the questions at first. But there's a very good reason.

YOU are the expert when it comes to YOUR VOICE.

I can hear you saying.

"Aren't YOU supposed to be the expert in the room? What am I paying you for???"

It's true. I'm an expert when it comes to singing and how the voice works.

But YOU are the expert on YOUR VOICE.

I am your guide.

I can't feel the feelings you experience, or think the thoughts you have after trying something. My goal is to help you to become self-aware of your singing, to accurately and confidently identify things that are going well, and to pinpoint where the sticky parts are. I can certainly offer my opinions, and use my own ears and eyes to help you as you are gaining self-awareness, but I do not want to be your guru. You don't need that.

The goal is for me to be a tool in your toolbox, that helps you stay on top of your game, but you are in the driver's seat.

When you're ready to take control of your voice, and to do the hard and brave work that comes with complete ownership of your singing, give me a call. We'll do great work together.

You've got this!
